Good evening, everyone. My name is WangHaili. I am an outgoing girl who likes reading and traveling. It’s really my great honor to stand here and give everyone a short speech. People say, youth is fire which is ignited by passion. People say, youth is a chapter of the poem which is written by stories. The color of youth is bright and we make most use of our ardor to draw the scenes to the canvas of painting. But we may be confused and lose our direction in the youth time. Under this, youth slips away. Roman Roland says, life doesn’t issue return ticket and can never come back once sets out.

So we should seize the short youth time and try our best to pursue our ideal. Do what should we do and let our youth without regret. When we refer to ideal, we will realize the importance of ideal. Ideal is the beacon,. Without ideal, we will lose the firm direction. Without direction, we will lose our life. According to this, every one of us should establish our own ideal .so that we have the direction of straggle to the future. Tolstoy tells us, we should have the life objective from the whole life to the second. So we should cherish every moment and form our systematic objective. Youth is the prime time.

We have strong body and energy and can sense the meaning of life under the guide of ideal. As we know, the ideal is plentiful and reality is skinny. But we should believe that we will become stronger and stronger in the way to pursue ideal. Future is unknown,. If we hope our future is nice, we should eich our youth time and find the direction of future. Let us use our youth to pursue our ideal and make our future wonderful. So we will have gorgeous life.

I have a belief deep down within my heart that my future will be bright.

My future will be bright with the belief in brighter days. Life doesn’t always play by rules, and we must face the fact that there are days that things could be better. But I have a belief which see me through the dark times.

I have a belief that joys once lost can always be found.

I have a belief that there is rainbows after every storm.

I have a belief that in the long run, my efforts will give back as much as I give, without a doubt.

This belief gives me hope that is as certain as sun when the world seems to be wearing a frown.

It is a steady and joyful light in my life.

It is a blessing I continue to count on through the years.

It is a light that will shine in me until the end of time.

It is a treasure a million times more valuable than the ones some people spend a lifetime trying to find.

I am grateful for the opportunity to deliver my speech here after 7-days’ preparation with my friend Jinly. Thanks to Jinly’s strong support in our work. I think it is my way of saying thank you to you that giving an excellent presentation to all my friends here.

The subject of our presentation is “YOUR DREAM & YOUR GOAL”. During the next 10 minutes, we’ll give you a brief explanation of these stuff at the best of our knowledge.

First of all, I’d like to spent 3 or 5 minutes on discussing about the dream. When we were 5, they asked us what we want to be when we grow up. We answered like superman, princess, or in my case, a sailor moon. When we were 10, again they asked and the answer was policemen, doctors and some other high-principled jobs. But unfortunately, we finally found our dreams unrealistic as we entered a not-so-good high school, did not-so-good school works and went to a not-so-good direction in our life. I guess, many of you have thought about changing your dreams, but finally felt at a loss again. Yep! We’re adults and they are waiting for a serious answer. Well, how about this? WHO THE HELL KNOWS! Dream is only a dream. It’s unnecessary for us to think over our dreams all day long. You know, dreams always change, and this is not the time to make difficult decisions. But what do dreams do? Why do we still have an urgent need of dreams?

Think about it: do you have had a time when you were full of happiness just because you have made an achievement that pushes you a bit to your dream? Do you have had a time when you insist on what you were doing even the tears keep falling from your eyes? That is the power from dreams! May I equate the faith and the dream here? As we all know, aims and dreams are far from each other to some extent but close to each other on the other hand. Just like the parabola and the number line in mathematics. But it is the dream that help us to map out our aim and work out plans one after another in our life. Just like what Howard Schultz, the founder of the Starbuck said, Dreams are like the stars----we never reach them, but like mariners, we chart our course by them. And I believe that if you have a dream and make efforts step by step, some of you may extremely finish the quantitative change on the way to success and reach the qualitative change!

I would like to finish my part by a tongue twister: Whether the weather be fine or whether the weather be not. Whether the weather be cold or whether the weather be hot. We'll weather the weather whether we like it or not. Whatever you dreams are and however difficult it is to realize them. Reach your aim step by step and I believe your dreams will extremely come into truth!

Select three things to symbolize your past, present, and futureGood morning everyone, I’m very glad to have a presentation here. Today, I will select three things to introduce my past, present, and future. When I was a little boy, I lived in a very beautiful mountain village.

There is a stream between the mountains. The water in the stream is so clear that you can see the oval stones at the bottom of the stream and the swimming fishes. At that time, I often went to swim in the stream. From then on, swimming has been one of my favorite sports. It made me become strong. Besides, I often went fishing along the stream. Fish is my one of my favorite food. It is very delicious. Meanwhile, I made many good friends that time, and we often played games along the stream. The stream brought me a lot of happy times. So, “stream” can symbolize my past.

Now, I am studying for a doctor’s degree in Nankai University, majoring in analytical chemistry. As the saying goes, you can either travel or read, but either your body or soul must be on the way. So I read many books in my college life, and I learn a lot of knowledge from the books. I know why the tang dynasty is so powerful from historical books. I know the law of value from economical books. I know why the sunshine has seven colores from physical books. I know why the vinegar is acerbic from chemical books. I know material determines consciousness from philosophical books. So, “book” can symbolize my present. In the future, I will graduate from Nankai University and get my doctor’s degree. After that, I will get married with a girl I love. Then, I will have my children and my own family.

I will take my children to the beautiful stream in my hometown. I will teach them how to swim, and how to catch the fish in the stream. Of course, I will cook the fish for them, and tell them my story along the steam. In addition, I will tell them the interesting knowledge I learned from the books, for example, why the tang dynasty is so powerful, the law of value, why the sunshine has seven colores, why the vinegar is acerbic, material determines consciousness, and so on. Therefore, I think “father” can symbolize my future.
